Bian:

Split into two types of hard ( see image ) and soft, this weapon belongs to the category of short weapons. It could be used in both paired and single form. Main moves by this weapon includes dang, gua, shuai, diao, dian, zai, parn and sao. Many styles in Hong Kong teaches this weapon.

Shangjian:

Paired, rectangular, bladeless, if it is sectioned, it would be called Juejie. This weapon is mostly made of bronze or iron. Often used in the form of defending with the left while attacking with the right or attacking with the left and defending with he right, or in some instances, both attacking or defending at the same time. When using it, it is important to pay focus on lanji.

Guai:

Also known as "guaizi", it could be long or short. When in long form, it is called danguai, the short being shangguai. Despite being different in structure, the uses between both variations are quite similar. danguai's main moves are pi, za, gun, beng, zhi, zha, na, gou, pai, guazai, etc. For shangguai, there are lou, gay, za, pi, zhuan, ji, gua, etc.  A lot of styles in Hong Kong teaches this weapon.

Bishou:

Also called Chazi, it could be practised as paired and single form. It is considered a weapon at close range. Moves includes ci, zha, tiao, sou, ge, liao, jia It requires the practitioner to be quick with his eyes, hands, body and footwork. Attacking at close range, it gain victory by taking risks.

Shanggou::

A weapon with many blades, it is one of the weapons which is quite hard to use. If not used carefully, it could easily injure the self. Moves includes gou, lou, tao, dai, tou, ya, tiao, ci, bao, gua, tui, li, sou, jia, etc. In Hong Kong the school of Mizong-louhan have a routine of Xinggou, Preying mantis has Meihaugou, North Shaolin  has Ditang-hutougou all of which are the traditional uses of this weapon.

Chui:

This weapon works in pairs and its shape could come in jinjao, square, hexagonal, etc. Practitioners of this weapon requires a large amount of strength. Moves of this weapon could take attacks and produce attack in the hardcore style. Therefore, there is a saying that when a chui or gun is involved, one could not fight strength for strength. Move includes shuan, yin, gua, za, gay, lei, yun, chong, etc. Today in Hong Kong, Preying Mantis is the main school which practices this weapon.

Dun:

Used for defence most, it came in rectangular shape or round in the ancient times. It is mainly used with dao, with the dun ( shield )as a defender and the dao as an attacker. Rolling could be performed under the protection of the dun, while it could also help hide the sword for an element of surprise. The nine main moves of the dun is terng, yue, pu, gun, cheng, fu, jwo, tsuan, duen.
